- On 17th October 2017
In July we launched ‘My Journey’, an invitation for anyone affected by in-care abuse or neglect to share their art or writing with us as a way to mark the first anniversary of Future Pathways.
We were overwhelmed by the response and the powerful works people shared – you can view an online gallery of the works submitted here.
We know that not everyone who wanted to take part the first time had the chance to do so, and that others were inspired by what they had seen, and would like the opportunity to share their own work. So we’re opening up the call again!
If you didn’t take part the first time, and you’d like to share your art, photography or writing exploring the theme of ‘My Journey’, we’d love you to get involved.
The closing date for this round is Friday 17 November. The new works will be added to the online gallery and shared on social media. There will also be the opportunity to display them alongside the existing exhibition when it is on show in public venues in central Scotland soon – keep an eye on our website, Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
We’d love you to share your journey in any way you like. It could be:
- Visual art – a painting, a sculpture, or arts and crafts piece
- Writing – a poem or short story (up to one side of A4)
To help you get started, here are some things to think about when creating your piece:
- Where are you on your journey?
- How has support from Future Pathways or elsewhere helped you on your journey?
- What’s the next step on your journey?
If you would like to take part, please download the guidance below for details of how to send in your works. Please also complete an entry form when submitting your work.
